Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@solacecolorado.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You have options!

You are allowed to enroll in DUI Education immediately following your drinking and driving offense.  Your classes will count toward any legal or DMV requirements you might receive as long as they are attended AFTER the offense date.  Many people do this to be pro-active in making changes and satisfying potential requirements.

You may also wait until you have been ordered by a court or judicial agency to begin.  Either way, you will be required to complete Level II Education AND Therapy to satisfy DMV requirements for your driving privileges.  The exception to this is if you appear at a hearing at the DMV and they determine that you do not meet criteria for revocation of your license.

  • **Please note:  Solace Counseling is not offering legal advice on how you should proceed.  We are merely providing information as to your options.  If you have legal questions, please consult with your attorney or legal representative.

Solace is a Colorado state-licensed and approved provider for DUI Services.  Although everyone's situations may vary slightly depending on jurisdiction (county or district) when It comes to the legal side of a DUI offense, the DMV has specific, SET, requirements  for you to be able to maintain or reinstate driving privileges.  You can access more information on these requirements here.

We can help you reinstate your license early (if you are eligible) by providing you with a Colorado Affidavit of Enrollment after you have completed an intake and attended at least two classes.  You will need this to apply for a restricted license if the DMV has deemed that your licensed is revoked because of the offense.  If your license is revoked, you will be required to wait for 30 or 60 days until applying for a restricted license.

If your license is taken by a law enforcement officer at the time of the offense, and you were issued a notice of revocation, you only have seven days to go to your local Driver License office and request a hearing.  You can request more information on how to schedule a hearing by sending an email to:   dor_hearingrequest@state.co.us.

You will need to start with scheduling an intake.  If you have already been to court and sentenced, you will know which Track you will be required to complete.  If you have not been sentenced, we will determine what your requirements will be, based on:

  • the circumstances of your offense
  • the DUI laws in Colorado
  • the DMV requirements for driving privileges, and
  • the changes you are wanting to make.

Our goal is to help you remain compliant, meet your requirements, and complete this process in a timely manner.

For your intake appointment, you will need:

  • Intake fee:  $135 (includes workbook)
  • Payment for first class: $35
  • Any court documents you have with your case information.
  • Your attorney's information (if you choose for us to supply progress reports to them to help you in court).
  • Your Probation Officer's contact information (if you are sentenced).
  • Your driver license or Colorado ID (if you have it).
  • 1.5 hours of your time

Total fees per modality:

Level II Education consists of 24 hours of education over 12 weeks.  Colorado law dictates that you may not attend more than one Education group per week.

Level II Education fees:

Intake fee: $125;  Each Group: $35  (x12) = $420

Total Cost for Program: $545

  • We offer a 10% discount if you pay in full at time of intake

Total program cost for Education after discount: $490.50

Track Therapy varies depending on the severity of your DUI.  The tracks (A, B, C, & D) are differentiated by length of time and number of groups.  You will enter track therapy immediately following completion of Level II Education, and your first session will be done as an individual session in order to determine new treatment goals. You will then join your assigned therapy group the following week.

Level II Track Therapy fees (these are IN ADDITION to Level II Education fees above:

Track A (42 hours):    Each Group $35 (x21) = $735      (with discount = $661)

Track B (52 hours):    Each Group $35 (x26) = $910      (with discount = $819)

Track C (68 hours):    Each Group $35 (x34) = $1190    (with discount = $1070)

Track D (86 hours):    Each Group $35 (x43) = $1505    (with discount = $1354)

Time needed to complete program based on Tracks:

Level II Ed & Track A = 33 weeks

Level II Ed & Track B = 38 weeks

Level II Ed & Track C = 46 weeks

Level II Ed & Track D = 55 weeks

* Colorado state law dictates that you may not do Education and Therapy at the same time.

We offer different classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!  We offer both Telehealth (video conferencing) and in-person.  Due to the effects of Covid, we have taken precautions to class size and availability for in-person groups.  Depending on your requirements and availability, we will determine together, at intake, which group or class you will be placed in that best fits your needs.
